The Alien Invasion
of North Dakota
Part 1: The Mother
Ship
The space invaders had planned
well in advance where they would make Earthfall, and designed
their ship according to local custom, hoping it would blend with
the landscape and remain unnoticed, even by Richard Dreyfuss.
It was the perfect ruse, and embodied all that was familiar
in North Dakota. However, some alien engineer back at space-dock
got the dimensions wrong.
Within mere moments of touchdown, hundreds of inhabitants besieged
the ship and marveled at the new resource within their midst,
especially the dairy farmers (photo, bottom) who fell into manic
raptures with visions of new Beemers and comped weeks in Vegas
dancing through their heads.
The invaders were relieved not to be fired upon with missiles
or assaulted by armor piercing plutonium pitchforks, but were
slightly embarrassed and disappointed that, instead of terror
and surrender, the Mother Ship was greeted with giddy avarice.
But, no matter. The mission would continue as planned...........
